A Conversation on Visa Issues: U.S. Department of State Tuesday, February 23, 2010 Registration 8:30 a.m. Program 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Greater Houston Partnership, Board Room 1200 Smith Street, Suite 700 Houston, Texas 77002 Please join the Greater Houston Partnership as we welcome Ms. Meg Olsen, Consular Officer at the Bureau of Consular Affairs for the U.S. Department of State. The Department of State has initiated several changes and improvements to the visa process to reduce delays and streamline the process. Participants will have the opportunity to hear firsthand, from the U.S. Department of State and prominent lawyers from Houston’s business community, on various visa issues including the E-1 and ask questions that are of importance in today’s business world. Ms. Olsen has been with the U.S. Department of State since March 2004. In her current role under the Office of Visa Advisory Opinions, she advises on eligibility of aliens for immigrant and non-immigrant visas under U.S. immigration law. Prior to her work with the U.S. Department of State, she worked for the Naval Air Systems Command in Lexington, Maryland (February 2002 to March 2004); Naval Facilities Engineering Command in Naples, Italy (February 1998 to February 2002); and Engineering Facilities Mediterranean in Naples, Italy (October 1995 – February 1998).
